The Lennox 12S60 (ECB25-10CB-P) is a single-phase 10 kW electric heater with a circuit breaker. This device operates with 60 Hz and 208/240V power ratings.

The electric heater converts electric current to heat that provides heat to the furnace. This component features a built-in thermostat and overheat protection to automatically shuts off the system when it is too hot.

Directly replaced by the Lennox 27A15 (ECBA25-10CB) electric heat kit. Commonly used with Lennox CBX25UH and CBX25UHV air handlers and furnaces. Compatible with G16S-60, G14S-60, G14S-75, G12S-60, G12S-75.

I currently have a 5KW in my CBX25UH. I want to move to the 10KW heat strip. Is this as simple as pulling out the 5KW and its breakers and put this one in. Do I have to increase the speed of the blower? If so, can you tell me how?

When switching from the Lennox CBX25UH air handler to a larger unit it is very important to consider all aspects of the upgrade. Simply switching the heat strip to a larger capacity may not be safe as other components and variables need to be considered. The original 5 KW air handler fabrication materials and its components may not be rated for the larger size. We suggest speaking to a licensed and qualified Lennox dealer in your area.
