The Trane MOT18997 is an HVAC single-phase blower direct drive permanent split capacitor motor that has a power rating of 1/3 HP and 460V.  It is designed for HVAC air-moving applications requiring reliable multi-speed operation.  It includes a 0.5" shaft diameter with a 4" shaft length.  This motor is UL-recognized.

This motor features a Totally Enclosed Air-Over (TEAO) enclosure with a 48Y-frame, allowing it to be safely cooled by the airflow passing over the motor while protecting internal components from debris.  It offers three-speed operation with reversible rotation (Clockwise / Counterclockwise), providing flexibility for various equipment configurations and airflow requirements.  The multi-speed design allows better system tuning and energy control with up to 1075 RPM speed.

The motor supports band or hub mounting, making it adaptable to a range of blower and fan assemblies.  The MOT18997 combined with the KIT1052 belly band kit directly replaces part numbers MOT4505 and K55HXUMS-1223.
